Interested in learning the art of grafting? Come join us as we partner with Spiral Ridge Permaculture to bring you a special grafting workshop. We will cover various types and methods of grafting. A variety of fruit trees will be covered including but not limited to: Apples, Pears, Peach and Plum. We will also discuss and learn proper pruning techniques.
In this grafting workshop we will cover various grafting methods so you will be able to start grafting your own trees. Learn about various rootstocks available for trees and why you may prefer one type over another. Know what to look for when selecting your scion wood for grafting. Familiarize yourself with various grafting tools and supplies. We will also cover proper pruning techniques for various young fruit trees and some propigation techniques for some trees that you do not have to graft to get a good healthy tree.
Once you get some practice in learning to graft we will move on to actually grafting scions onto the proper rootstocks. All students will be taking home a freshly grafted tree to plant.

This will be a half day grafting workshop. Start time will be 9am on Saturday March 18,2017 and will run until approx. 2pm. Arrival an start as early as 7:30am. Fresh locally roasted coffee from Holler Roast will be served as well as teas, soda and water. Please contact us if you are traveling and need arrangements for a night a limited number of dry campsites can be available or we can recommend nearby local facilities.
